RAWALPINDI: Police lodged a case against PML-N leader and former MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi for allegedly damaging a police bus after a clash with them.

Abbasi, who is contesting from NA-56 on a PML-N’s ticket, along with 700 party workers reportedly clashed with police and personnel of other law enforcers at Committee Chowk, when due to security reasons, they were stopped from moving ahead to attend a public gathering at Liaquat Bagh, which was addressed by party chief Nawaz Sharif the other day.

According to the police, the road leading to the Liaquat Bagh was barricaded at Committee Chowk as per the security plan, however, Abbasi and other party workers removed the barricades and damaged a police bus after a scuffle with the police. SHO Raja Musaddiq said that a case has been registered against some 700 PMN-N workers and their leader Abbasi.
