Prominent engineer, Nazir Husain, dies at 93

Husain is survived by a daughter, Seema, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The first Pakistani Chief Engineer of Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited and Lakson Tobacco Company Limited technical director, Nazir Husain, died at the age of 93, after a brief illness, on Tuesday.


After having received his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, Husain had decided to work for the Pakistani branch of the British Tobacco Company. He later joined Lakson Tobacco where he played a vital role in their expansion. He is survived by a daughter, Seema, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
