Road accident: Girl killed, brother injured

TAXILA: A girl was killed and her brother was injured when a car hit them on GT Road in Taxila on Monday. Police sources said that 13-year-old Maryam and her younger brother were crossing a road with their mother in Nawababad when a speeding car driven by an unknown driver hit them. Maryam died on the spot and her brother sustained serious injuries, while their mother remained unhurt. They were taken to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, where the injured boy is now out of danger. Maryam’s body was handed over to her family. A case has been registered and manhunt has been launched to arrest the car’s driver, who fled from the spot after committing the offence.
