High-handedness: Police break youth’s legs

Family alleged that Station House Officer Mohsin Sardar demanded a Rs100,000 bribe to let him go.

HASILPUR: Police beat a youth and broke his legs here on Tuesday allegedly for not paying bribe. The family of Talib Hussain said he worked at a Haroonabad mill. They said a few days ago when he was visiting home, the city police arrested him in a false dacoity case. They alleged that Station House Officer Mohsin Sardar demanded a Rs100,000 bribe to let him go. They said he was tortured for not paying the bribe. Hussain has been admitted to the Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital.
