Twenty20 Championship to begin domestic season
The 2010-11 domestic season will start off with the seventh Twenty20 Championship from October 10 to 16 in Lahore.
LAHORE:
The 2010-11 domestic season will be starting off with the seventh Twenty20 Championship from October 10 to 16 in Lahore, organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The tournament, offering Rs4 million in prize money, normally takes place after the first-class tournament but the schedule has been changed this year.
Manager Pakistan Domestic and Grassroot cricket Shafiq Ahmed however, justified the re-scheduling as the tournament is meant to raise funds for the flood victims. “This Twenty20 championship is the country’s most premium event. We’re hoping that it will draw in a large crowd to help us in this noble cause,” Ahmed told The Express Tribune.
