The Foreign Ministry in a press release on Tuesday, expressed concern for the security of Pakistani citizens who are either scheduled to or are already visiting India.

Over 600 pilgrims are expected to visit Ajmer Sharif, a 13th-century shrine in northern India, for the annual Urs this month.

The press release said the security of the Pakistani visitors might be a cause for concern and advised citizens to exercise due caution while travelling to various parts of India.

Pakistani government would also seek support of the Indian government in ensuring that necessary arrangements are put in place for the protection of visitors from Pakistan, it added.

Earlier this week Sanaullah Haq, a Pakistani convict in a Jammu jail was severely attacked in an apparent act of retaliation after convicted Indian spy Sarabjit Singh succumbed to his injuries in Pakistan last week. He had sustained severe head injuries in an attack by jail inmates.
