Over 600 pilgrims are expected to visit Ajmer Sharif, a 13th-century shrine in northern India, for the annual Urs this month.
The press release said the security of the Pakistani visitors might be a cause for concern and advised citizens to exercise due caution while travelling to various parts of India.
Pakistani government would also seek support of the Indian government in ensuring that necessary arrangements are put in place for the protection of visitors from Pakistan, it added.
Earlier this week Sanaullah Haq, a Pakistani convict in a Jammu jail was severely attacked in an apparent act of retaliation after convicted Indian spy Sarabjit Singh succumbed to his injuries in Pakistan last week. He had sustained severe head injuries in an attack by jail inmates.

@Prakash: Pakistanis are more unsafe in Pakistan than when they travel to India. Not that tourism between India and Pakistan is all that great that warning should be issued!!
what about pakistani patients and children traveling India for treatment. Dont spew hatred my brothers. both countries are going though bad times. Give time some time.
Yes, My dear Pakistanis, pl follow your govt's advice, Take extra precaution while u visit India, better pl dont come till things cool down. By the way is the travel alert applicable for Kasab's and his ilks. I hope they dont show up till the end of time.
@Syed A. Mateen: Of course. You should remain in the Karachi or Peshawar or Quetta - which are OH so much safer.
This shows the Pakistanis and their govt. have not lost the sense of humour.
and whats important in ajmer? Why you need to visit that place? You are muslims, not ajmeris? There is no advantage of a pilgrimage at all. .i think Our pm and president are illetrate. . ! We pakistanis Just leave such uncanny beliefs and work hard for a developed, peaceful and secular nation and country. . ! P.s if you want a rejoicing visit consider some other place in world which is less pakophobic!
Embassy should keep in touch with them.
It is very odd to see Pakistani muslims visiting India on religious pilgrimage. Is there any place of religious significance to Islam in Pakistan that muslims from any other country visit on religious pilgrimage? Can anyone name any such place. Yes, I know there are some places of religious significance to Sikhs and Hindus in Pakistan but I do not know of any place of religious significance to muslims in Pakistan nor have I heard of any muslim visiting Pakistan on a religious pilgrimage. If anyone knows of any such place, please provide details. I would be glad to educate myself.
Dear Dabang,
Do you read madarsaa Published News paper ?
Another travel advisory should read, ' Caution Pakistanis, travel within pakistan at your own risk. That in my opinion is more apt, given the number of explosions, kidnapping etc I read in this website.
Almost every country in the world is having travelling alert for India, due to the unsafe environment in Indian, after every day incidents of rapes of foreigner female tourists, and the most inhuman act of sexual assault on girls as young as 5 years is not safe in India. Pakistan should have issued this warning long before, because Indians are showing themselves the most uncivilized walking nation, it is not at all a place to go for any thing.
What a Joke. Pakistani Government issuing travel advisories.
LOL!
Please stay put in your country, for ever that is. Thank you.
Let the govt first issue a travel alert / outdoor warning for our movements within Pakistan. Its scary to walk in our streets nowadays. No body knows who is a suicide bomber, which object in the road is going to explode or who is going to pull out an AK 47... God.. Help us...
@Syed A. Mateen:
"Pilgrims should cancel their visit thisyear to India in view of the possible threat’s to their lives."
I agree. Pakistanis should remain in the safest place on earth called Pakistan.
What about Pakistanis travelling to Pakistani cities - are they safe enough? So far, over 700 have been killed in the run up to the 11 May elections in Pakistan. Almost none have been killed travelling to India! Which is more dangerous? Can we pls have the rocket scientists work this one out for us.... we mere mortals can't figure this one out for once.
However the press release omitted to mention that, notwithstanding the caution, India still remains a much safer place than the home country for the visitors.
Hatred for Pakistan is running high in india due to the death of terrorist sarabjit singh. I hope all Pakistanis visiting india remain safe.
Pilgrims should cancel their visit thisyear to India in view of the possible threat's to their lives.
