The SHC said that the decision to redraw new constituencies was given by the Supreme Court and it cannot interfere in the decisions taken by Supreme Court.
In March, the larger bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan had given authority to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to carry out delimitation procedures wherever it found that creating new constituencies were necessary.
A few days later, the ECP issued a notification for delimitation of three constituencies of National Assembly and eight constituencies of the Provincial Assembly.
MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had termed the delimitation of Karachi constituencies a strategy to harm the MQM’s vote bank.

BREAKING NEWS: Supereme Court of Pakistan wants FREE & FAIR ELECTION ONLY IN KARACHI not in the whole country! what kind of justice is this! It seems like Karachi is not part of Pakistan but another occupied territory in Pakistan where rules are changed than the rest of the country.
it must be done in whole of the country s
@Safi Faruqi: So you mean it should be done in Karachi and other cities as well. So why not start from Karachi? City of educated people.
@jammu: You said population grew upto two and a half million. I would say it is three and a half million. But how can both our claims be verified? The answer is 'census'. Parties opposing the delimitation have only 02 points. 1- Delimitation should be carried out after census. 2- Delimitation should be carried out throughout the country. Hope the issue is now clear for you to understand.
@Safi Faruqi: what issue, if some good work is doing in karachi.
The same as expected. "Something" has been decided against MQM.
Not against delimitation but it should be done throughout the country not just in Karachi.
