The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will provide logistic support to the local administration in conducting polling in the National Assembly constituencies 48 and 49.
The AIOU buses will be made available to the local administration on the polling day for transportation of polling staff and the electoral material required to conduct free and fair elections and ensure public trust in the results, said a press release issued here on Monday.
AIOU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi, at a meeting held on Monday, assured Islamabad Assistant Commissioner Imran Ali Sultan that the AIOU will provide maximum support to the local administration for smoothly conducting the national elections.
He said that they consider it their national duty to participate in the election arrangements of the local administration, the press release added.
