“We pledge that after coming into power, we will protect the life and property of all minorities including Christians, Hindus and Sikhs and uphold all their other rights in consonance with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh),” said PTI chief Imran Khan to a crowd that cheered in response.
The PTI chief addressed more than a dozen rallies on Sunday. He began in Lahore, then stopped at Khushab, Chiniot, Bhowana, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and finally reached Faisalabad, where the largest gathering of the day was held at Iqbal Park’s Dhobi Ghatt ground. “Those who destroyed the system through bad governance cannot bring any change or betterment. They can only weaken the state institutions,” said the PTI chief to a crowd of over 20,000 in Faisalabad.
The PTI will closely follow the fundamental principles of an Islamic welfare state, as spelled out by the Holy Prophet (pbuh) after the conquest of Makkah. “I want to convert Pakistan into a real Islamic welfare state and provide basic amenities to the oppressed classes, and provide for orphans, widows, the disabled from the state exchequer, as was done by the Holy Prophet (pbuh)”. “These are the golden principles for ruling an Islamic state.”
On terrorism
The PTI chief said that the unrest and anarchy prevailing in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and manifesting itself through separatist movements in Balochistan resulted from injustice and favoritism. “The root causes of lawlessness and terrorism are injustice and favouritism.”
“PTI will save the country from the menace of terrorism, lawlessness and will change the ordinary man’s destiny.”
On the PML-N
Criticising PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, Imran said that the former premier had corrupted state institutions to “achieve his nefarious designs” and to “enact dictatorial rule by hook or by crook”. Nawaz had tried to subordinate the top court for a “personal vendetta.”
“How can such a man respect principles?” asked Imran.
Moreover, referring to tape aired by television channels of a conversation between Justice (retd) Malik Muhammad Qayyum and former chief minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Imran Khan said, “This tape has exposed the true face of those pressing for the rule of law; those are making empty promises for bringing justice to all.”
“Nawaz Sharif claims that he will introduce a bullet train and establish a chain of motorways -- but I will convert Pakistan into a respectable nation,” said Imran. “A nation that can live with dignity, honor and grace.”
Meanwhile, former federal minister for water and power Raja Nadir Parvaiz announced to join PTI on the eve of the Iqbal Park meeting.
On taxes
“I will not seek loans from any foreign country,” said Imran, as the crowd applauded. “Rather, I will collect taxes from those who have to pay on the basis of their income, without enhancing the tax rate.”
Expressing confidence in PTI’s victory, Imran said: “On May 11, the entire nation will celebrate PTI’s victory after offering prayers of thankfulness – I, myself, will join the crowds With additional input from news wires

Congrats to PTI for making alliance with PTI. I am shocked to see the politics of IK. No ideology. No vision. Just hunger of votes. All (PTI, PPP, Q League, MQM) criticizing PML-N. All are united in this issue. You see ADS of PPP against PML-N on TV. Have they made any AD against PTI? No. Because PTI is the only party that is benefiting PPP. What a role being played by PTI. Again a hung parliament will be the fate of Pakistan. VERY SAD. ALLAH BLESS PAKISTAN.
All PTI fans will be blaming for "DHANDLI" on the evening of May 11. They dont have any mind like their leader.
@Faiza:
* I hate Imran Khan *
No problem, Imran still loves you as a Pakistani and will provide your children with a better future. Repent now or your own hatred will consume you.
Can't wait for May 12 to breath some fresh air! Go Imran, one final heave and the walls of oppression will come tumbling down. We are all with you with our support, prayers and money!
@OK:
@Ch. Allah Daad: Despite all the hate you have for IK/PTI (as paid employee of PML N, it is your job and you must do it) we all know that you will vote for PTI on May 11th!
Sorry to disappoint you but over the past few days, I have not been feeling well. I think I will be on the first flight to Jeddah on May for * hungami tibbi illaj* and will not be able to vote.
If ammanullah ya akhi!
Question: Who is the most satisfied from election compaign of PTI? Answer: Asif Ali Zardari
Terror free society by siding with terrorists? Lolllz
I feel pity for PTI fans who are running election compaign of PPP.
Imran is trying to become representative of youth at the age of 60. IMPOSSIBLE. Myself and all my class-fellows will vote for PML N.
There is no other way forward except to get out of so called war on terror and engage Taliban in diaglogue.Imran Khan has been saying for a decade that negociations are the only way forward to end this crisis.Those who labled IK as Taliban Khan like Asfandar Wali are now themselves saying that military intervention is not the solution to resolve this issue.
@asim: Kindly read IK interviews and press clippings in which Imran Khan has in detail described how he will handle the taliban issue.
Oh No. Imran did you just mistakenly cough..cough....missed one minority name "Ahmadis"
@Ch. Allah Daad: Despite all the hate you have for IK/PTI (as paid employee of PML N, it is your job and you must do it) we all know that you will vote for PTI on May 11th!
Are all the promises made during electioneering really viable ? I hope that the party achieves whatsoever it promises else the party will be doomed..
I hate Imran Khan.
PTI is playing the same role in Elections 2013 that was played by Pakistan Islamic Front in 1993 elections. Pakistan Islamic Front contested from all over Pakistan and won just 3 seats but due to split of vote bank of PML N, 35 seats were given as a gift to PPP. PTI is also doing the same role. They will get less than 10 seats all over Pakistan but PPP will be benefited. That is why PPP is not running its compaign in Punjab. The role of PTI is enough for PPP. It is a bad politics of PPP. History will never forgive PTI.
Why my comment was removed by ET? I condemn IK's comment about Ahmadis which is inflammatory and derogatory.
Love you Khan
We will give you chance this time. I am from KPK and we have been disappointed by ANP, PMLN, MMA and recently by PPP You have done it before and we want to try. Our efforts are with you.
The more IK talks the more contradictions would come out. There would be peace if he comes to power, says a lot! His friends TTP and other terrorists only attack their enemies and liberal parties not his party. They would have good understanding that is why he can have a free hand a rather walkover.
This man will just about say anything to get votes. Seems like contradicting his own self has become his habit.
Oh yeah. We beleive u khan.
Just love his enthusiasm for the country. 58 jalsas in 10 days. Pakistan, he isn't doing for himself, he is doing for all of us. Please, vote for him.
Notwithstanding the deadly Taliban violence, Asfandyar said that he still ‘believes in peace negotiations’ with the militants.- http://tribune.com.pk/story/545020/it-seems-hakimullah-is-heading-ecp-asfandyar/ Even the ANP chief has said it! What more do you guys want?
How will he deal with Taliban and make peace?
All the Best PTI. naya Pakistan, on its way.
Imran's pledge towards minorites is a great news for Ahmedis. He considers Christians, Hindus and Sikhs as minorities only and excludes Ahmedis from the list, otherwise he would have mentioned them too. Now its duty of every Ahmedi to end their boycott and vote him in great majority.
Some of those who label PTI as Taliban apologist should read this news http://tribune.com.pk/story/544735/blast-near-pti-corner-meeting-in-mardan-3-injured/
Im really glad that he finally said it...now keep this up and u just might have my vote for sure.
