Tax collection: Rs6.1m entertainment tax recovered

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has made a record recovery of Rs6.1 million from entertainment tax in the first four months of the ongoing year, The Express Tribune has learnt. Rs6.1 million was collected from fashion shows, race clubs and theatres. Last year, the amount had been around Rs3.8 million. Rs26 million was received as bed tax from around 350 hotels and guest houses in March. Last year, Rs21.2 million was collected. There is a 40 per cent tax on fashion shows and concerts and 20 per cent of circus and theatre.
