'Sarabjit Singh' almost immediately started trending in Mumbai as users took to Twitter to express their reactions to the news. Some compared Sarabjit's treatment to that of Ajmal Kasab, the sole surviving gunman from the 2008 Mumbai attacks, who was hanged last year in India. Others took their respective governments to task for not handling the situation in a tactful manner.
Some Pakistanis, while recounting his terrorist acts, said that he passed away before justice could be served.

Couldn't Pakistan have sent #Sarabjit back to his country in his dying hours? What about humaneness? Strength tonight to his brave family

India kept Kasab in secure cell at great expense. Pakistan failed to even protect Sarabjit Singh's life in prison. India 1 Pakistan 0.

I think the attack on Sarabjit was pre-planned, for a specific purpose: keep tensions alive between India and Pakistan. #DTBPk

@Wateva: Afzal Guru was a terrorist beyond a reasonable doubt, caught on camera. Atleast the indian authorities kept him safe, till the legal process reached a dead-end. In sarabjit's case, there was a hold on his death penalty. If every person starts deciding who should die and who should live, it won't be long before one's own sons will be blowing things up.
Lets see how you react when your brother is arrested, and the govt has put the case on hold but the people controlling the prison decide that its time for him to die.
@Wateva: Afzal Guru was hanged acording to the law of Indian penal Code. Can ya say the same about Sarabjeet?
great news terrorist killed same way which he was deserved for
We pakistanis learnt humanity from the Indians who showed no mercy to Afzal Guru. This is a simple case of Pot calling kettle black.
Spy or not, he deserved a proper trial and then a proper hanging if he was proved innocent
I feel the pain of the Singh family and his wife and Children and sad to see our government failed to protect a prisoner which was its responsibility. On the Other hand how come Pakistan media is so lazy that it has been not able to list all 14 families who lost the loved ones who would be never coming back. It was fourteen families destroyed by Mr. Singh I am sad at his end but there will be justice for the families. ET can easily find his victims but it is always busy pleasing Indians.
Whether Sarabjit Singh is a spy or a terrorist or both it was the duty of State of Pakistan to protect him till an action is taken on his judicial veridct. This act again proved, whoever is running the Govt. (caretaker or careless taker) the actual power is some where else, and the official state machinary of the country is helpless and inefficent. ( as in many cases). Every country is supposed to follow some fundamental international rules dealing with prisoners from other countries and Pakistan failed on this aspect.
Best Pakistan can do in this situations is to handover the body to his family, to prove some insantity left in the Country.
Rest In Peace..its a very tragic and sad incident, No matter what ever he did this kind of thing shouldn't happen with him, my sympathies with his family and friends
It is a big shame for a country which cannot protect its prisoners inside the jail.. and in this case a foreign national. Shame on us...
Btw, last time i checked kasab died because of Dengue and they hanged him afterward...
