K-P Fata: 42 women candidates are in the fray

A large number of women are participating on general seats for the first time in the country’s history.

ISLAMABAD:
A total of 42 women candidates are participating for 15 National and 27 Provincial Assembly seats of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in the upcoming general elections.

A large number of women are participating on general seats for the first time in the country’s history. KP and Fata have 47 National and 99 Provincial assembly seats.


As many as 80% of the women are contesting the polls as independent candidates while the remaining 20% have party tickets.
