Rally Rules: Imran, Maryam again reported for code violations

Maryam Nawaz, Imran Khan already issued notices for violating code of conduct in earlier rallies.

Election monitoring teams reported another 28 violations of the election code of conduct to the district returning officer (DRO) on Tuesday, including repeat offences by PTI chief Imran Khan and Maryam Nawaz, daughter of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.


Khan was reported for holding a rally and using a loudspeaker while campaigning in the NA-122 constituency, while Nawaz was reported for leading an election rally on Mohni Road in NA-120. Both have already been reported to the DRO and issued notices for violating the code of conduct in earlier rallies.

Hamid Sarwar of PTI and Sohail Shaukat Butt and Rana Tajammul of PML-N were reported by monitoring teams for putting up campaign advertisements on a Wasa tubewell in NA-130, thus violating the provision against the use of public infrastructure.

Samina Khalid Ghurki and Babar Sohail Butt of PPP were reported for similar violations, having put up banners and flexes on electricity poles.

The monitoring teams also reported several candidates and supporters for putting up campaign ads of a larger than permitted size.
