PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has asked candidates contesting from the tribal belt to hold political gatherings in their own areas.

The directions were issued after some contestants from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) started holding political rallies in settled areas.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the Home and Tribal Affairs Department also asked all candidates from the tribal belt to avoid holding large gatherings in one place.

The statement read that all divisional commissioners from Peshawar, Bannu, Kohat, DI Khan and Malakand division are responsible to implement the new rules.
