Two Australians proved to be the chief destroyers for Sunrisers Hyderabad as Rajasthan Royals registered an emphatic eight-wicket win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Fast-bowler James Faulkner rocked the Hyderabad top-order and finished with a career-best five for 20 as they were restricted to 144 for nine. All-rounder Shane Watson then hit a whirlwind, unbeaten 98 off just 53 balls as Rajasthan overhauled the target in the 18th over for the loss of two wickets.
Darren Sammy’s 60 was the only highlight in an otherwise disappointing day for the Hyderabad side. Meanwhile, Rajasthan recorded their fifth win in eight matches.
Faulkner, named man of the match, was pleased with his performance. “It was a good game,” said Faulkner. “It’s good to be on the winning side.”
