Islamabad’s Mohammad Nazir replaced Mohammad Munir on the leader board of the Pakistan Open Golf Championship at the Defence Authority Country and Golf Club in Karachi yesterday.
Nazir registered a score of five-under-par on the third day, while Lahore’s Matloob Ahmed and DA Club’s Imran Ali Khan were tied in second place with three-under-par.
On the other hand, Pakistan number two golfer Mohammad Munir faltered from his top position and will begin at the score of two-under-par on the final day.
Meanwhile, Imdad Hussain, Talib Hussain and Ansar Mehmood continued with an even par score for the fifth position.
Pakistan’s top golfer Muhammad Shabbir was the biggest disappointment as he concluded the third day of the championship with the score of three-over-par.
“Shabbir will have to pull off the game of his life in order to win this,” an official told The Express Tribune. “He was coming in as the best player in the tournament, but our bets are on Munir now.”
