KARACHI:

Leader of PPP and a candidate for Thatta’s PS-88 constituency, Owais Muzaffar said the fact influential people were joining PPP was a testament to its undiminished popularity.

He was speaking to reporters in Thatta where Noor Muhammad Lashari, previously affiliated with the Shirazi group for over 40 years, announced his joining the PPP.

He added that the PPP was the only party which was democratically brought into power with the votes of the people.

Lashari, who along with other members of his clan announced to join the PPP, said that the people of Thatta were hopeful of a better future. He said he has joined the party to fulfill their wishes.

Muzaffar said the PPP would put in all efforts to resolve the problems of the people of Thatta. He added that the local residents will feel secure once the party establishes Bakhtawar House in the Mulki area of the region.

He said that Benazir Bhutto had chosen Keti Bandar to construct the biggest power plant in the country because she cared about the problems people of Pakistan faced.  Muzaffar stressed that Benazir wanted to bring prosperity in the region.

He added that unfortunately people ‘against the prosperity’ in Pakistan forced the project to be shelved, which had the potential to overcome the power crisis across the country.

If voted to power, he said the PPP would resolve all the issues of Thatta and the province.
