KARACHI: The hearing of Shahzeb Khan’s murder case was adjourned once again on an application moved by a defense counsel following a strike in the city on Friday.

The defense counsel, Shaukat Zubaidi, moved an application through one of the lawyers requesting the court adjourn the hearing as he was unable to appear before the court due to the strike.

The Anti-Terrorism Court judge, Ghulam Mustafa Memon, told the suspect, Shahrukh Jatoi, that a defence counsel will be appointed on state’s expense if his lawyer does not appear before the court at the next hearing.

Refreshing to see a trial in the Anti Terrorism Court have consecutive day hearings and therefore speedier justice, whatever the decision may be. The witnesses have had strength in numbers and been brave in coming forward together. Why does this not happen in more cases?

my faith in the judiciary will only be restored once justice is meted out to the accused in the Shahzeb murder case.
