Addressing a press conference at Miranshah Press Club, Haji Muhammad Nazir said the tribesmen of the agency have a right to development and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gave that right to them.
Nazir claimed Bhutto had granted funds for the agency’s development during his tenure as prime minister, adding the tribesmen are aware of their rights. He also promised to renovate Razmak Cadet College if elected.
Malik Kismat Khan, an elder of the Wazi Khel tribe, said Nazir is capable of fulfilling his promises and he will campaign for the election hopeful. Tribes in Shewa and Speen Waam tehsil will also support him, added Kismat.
Malik Darya Jan, a member of the Wazi Khel tribe who had earlier submitted his application, later decided to withdraw in favour of Nazir. Kismat said around 32,000 voters from the tribe will support Nazir now.
Kismat maintained that if former parliamentarians elected from the agency would have worked for its development, they would have voted for them, adding Shewa and Speen Waam tehsils are the most underdeveloped areas in North Waziristan.
