Love For Books: National Book Day celebrated at UAF

Chairman Nadeemul Haq reiterated the need to adopt regular reading habits.

The National Book Day was celebrated at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, (UAF) to encourage the youth to develop the reading habit.


Opening the event, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Nadeemul Haq emphasised the need to befriend books and said books guided the readers accurately. He expressed pleasure on being part of the National Book Day.

UAF Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan said books were the best gift we gave to friends and said people needed to promote reading habits. He said the UAF organised book exhibitions every year. He apprised the gathering that the university spent millions of rupees on purchasing new books every year.

Senior Tutor Dr Aslam Pervaiz, Library Principal Officer Dr Ihsanul Haq and Students’ Affairs Principal Officer Dr Hafeez Sadaqat also spoke.

Art Club students presented a script of comparison between the book and the internet.
