Website update: ECP releases list of candidates for K-P, Sindh

Some 2,296 candidates will contest polls from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

ISLAMABAD: As many as 6,216 candidates will contest elections from Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa and Sindh in the upcoming general elections, according to fresh data released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Of these, a total of 1,118 candidates will contest elections from Sindh for National Assembly seats while 2,810 will run for the provincial legislature. On the other hand, 2,296 candidates will contest polls from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa of which 850 will be contesting elections for National Assembly seats and 1,438 for provincial assembly seats.

According to the list released by ECP, 43 candidates have been finalised for NA-198 Sukkur, 20 for NA-199, 19 for NA-200 (Ghotki), 17 for NA-201 (Ghotki-II), 12 for NA 202 (Shikarpur) and nine for NA-203.



Similarly, for Karachi constituencies, 26 candidates have been finalised for NA-239, 13 for NA 240, 18 for NA-241, 21 for NA-242, nine for NA-243, 13 for NA-244, 14 for NA-245 Karachi, nine candidates for NA-246, 12 for NA- 247, 13 for NA-248, ten for NA-249, 32 for NA-250, 18 for NA-251 Karachi, 31 for NA-252 Karachi, 31 candidates for NA-252 Karachi, 30 candidates running for NA-253, 12 candidates are contesting for NA 254, 11 candidates for NA-255, 16 candidates for NA 256, 19 candidates for NA-257 and 29 candidates for NA-258 Karachi.

The commission had already issued a list of candidates from Punjab, Balochistan, Federal capital and tribal areas for both National Assembly and provincial assemblies’ seats.
