Violence roundup: Two brothers among seven killed in the city

Four men were kidnapped from Lyari and later killed.

KARACHI: Unremitting incidents of targeted attacks across the city claimed the lives of seven more people on Friday, including two brothers and a cousin, claimed to be supporters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Police said that four victims - brothers Naveed Parvez and Abdul Kahliq Parvez, their cousin Shakeel Wakeel and friend Nadeem Bahadur - were abducted from the Usmanabad neighbourhood of Lyari.  They were later shot and three bodies were dumped at Akbar Road in Shershah while the body of Abdul Kahliq was dumped in a rickshaw near Mewashah graveyard.

The bodies were shifted to the Karachi Civil Hospital where families of the deceased identified them. Police suspect that Lyari gangsters were behind the killings and the victims were believed to be supporters of the MQM.

Separately, Sohail Tajuddin was attacked at his service station within the limits of Surjani Town police station. After sustaining bullet injures, he was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

A grade nine student, Hanif Pervaiz, was shot dead in the remits of Mochko police station during an armed robbery.

Meanwhile, body of 30-year-old Naseer Ibrahim was found near Northern Bypass. Manghopir SHO Aslam Joya said that the victim who was strangled to death and was a resident of Turbat. He was reported as a ‘missing person’ in the FIR 104/2012 registered by the Gawadar police and was reportedly affiliated with a Baloch nationalist party.
