ISLAMABAD:

In the wake of terror attacks on its leadership and workers during their election campaigns, the Awami National Party (ANP) decided on Thursday to fully participate in elections. However, as a precautionary measure it would abstain from holding big rallies.

“Leaders have been advised to rely more on door-to-door campaign and use of electronic and print media,” said a senior ANP leader, one of the participants of the meeting.

All local party presidents and contesting candidates have been asked to participate more in TV programmes and interviews besides regularly issuing statements to print media, he added. They have been instructed to use emails, text messages and social media to spread their message.

“We have to fight this war. We are not bowing out. We will contest elections at all cost,” said the ANP leader.

A great news for the rightwing parties to win the elections without much efforts. A sad day for democracy and country hijacked by the terrorists for their fav rightwing parties. KPK has always voted for nationalist parties and there was no other way for them to stop from winning again.

Keeping the threat in mind, ANP must be given a greater chance of campaigning through electronic and print media.
