Murder of workers: MQM announces day of mourning

Business activities and transport services to remain uninterrupted, says MQM.

KARACHI: Condemning the killing of its worker on Thursday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced that it will observe a day of mourning on Friday over the killings of its office bearers and workers.

On Thursday, the joint MQM unit in-charge of UC – 5 in Mehmoodabad Muhammad Faisal was killed.

According to the MQM coordination committee, black flags would be hoisted and prayers would be offered for the deceased.

However, the party maintained that business activities in the city will continue as usual, and transport services would remain uninterrupted.

"No steps are being taken by the caretaker government and the security agencies for protecting the life and property of the MQM workers and sympathisers," said members of the committee.
