BAHAWALPUR:

Several Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers protested on Thursday against seat adjustment with Jamaat-i-Islami.

The protesting workers blocked the Fawara Chowk making a mock grave with party flags.

Youth wing District President Zeeshan Chaudhry, District General Secretary Sadiq Rehmani, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Adnan and Bahawalpur General Secretary Rana Rashid Javed led the protest.

They said considering that JI’s Hafiz Salman Butt was running against Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, they would not let the party surrender a provincial seat to a JI candidate in Bahawalpur.

“We will not let the party present the seat to JI on a plate,” the youth wing district president said. They said the party workers in the district had not been consulted in this regard.

The protesters demanded that Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif take immediate notice of the seat adjustment on NA-185 and PP-271 with JI and reconsider the decision.
