Hygiene Matters: 3 bakeries, one soda water factory sealed

The factory was sealed at Chowk Nakhuda after it was found to be operating without a water filtration plant.

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed three bakeries and a soda factory on Thursday because of their unhygienic conditions.


A PFA Food Safety Officer sealed three bakeries on Ravi Road and a factory in Shalimar Town over their failure to ensure hygienic conditions. The FSO said he had already served notices to the bakeries.
A soda water factory was sealed at Chowk Nakhuda after it was found to be operating without a water filtration plant.

The Punjab Food Authority has put together a list of soda water factories and are looking for more factories.
PFA Director General Aslam Islam said they will also want to verify that the bottles come from a safe source.
