The newly appointed Sindh Chief Secretary, Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry, has directed the health secretary to submit a report on the measles outbreak in the province.
On his first day at work, Chaudhry noted that 3,000 children were affected by measles and nearly 120 were killed across Sindh.
The new CS has also asked for a report on strikes by the Hyderabad taluka municipal staff from the local government secretary within two days. He demanded a comprehensive report with facts and solutions from the relevant departments.
Ijaz Chaudhry also called on the caretaker chief minister Justice (retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi at CM House. Chaudhry has been given this new assignment after the federal government transferred previous chief secretary, Raja Muhammad Abbas, on the directives of the Supreme Court.
Chaudhry was previously working as the secretary of the Board of Investment (BOI), Islamabad. Abbas has now been given the charge of secretary BOI.
