‘Honour’ killing: Three women, two men gunned down

Police yet to make arrests.

Five people - three women and two men - were gunned down in the name of honour in Panu Aqil and Thull on Tuesday.


Meena and Abdul Ghani Mahar were killed by the former’s father, Ramzan Mahar, in Mian Khan Mahar village, Panu Aqil. An FIR has yet to be registered.

In another incident in Main Bazaar, Thull, a woman and a man were shot dead for dishonouring the family. Muhammad Hasan Buriro spotted his daughter, Shazia, with Babar Ali Golo in the bazaar. Both were shot on the spot by Hasan.

The Thull police registered an FIR against Hassan and his accomplices. The police have, however, yet to make any arrests. In the third incident, Moula Bux Banglani shot dead his wife, Naseema, over suspicions of being a kari in Jagan Noonari village, Thull.
