Zaman Khan, an official of the Shabqadar police station, said two unidentified motorcyclists hurled an explosive near the house of judge Sanam Taj in Halemzai. The house is located near Civil Hospital Shabqadar. The bomb destroyed the main gate of the house as well as a motorcycle parked there.
Following the incident, police rushed to the site, surrounded the area and began a search operation. An FIR had not been registered till this report was filed, Zaman said.

A person familiar with the matter said Sanam’s father, Tajawal Khan, who had served as a principal in different technical institutions across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, was also being threatened by unidentified persons to pay extortion. “Tajawal had informed the police about the threats, but he has not been provided any security,” the source added.
He expressed surprise over the fact that the incident happened around 100 metres away from a police checkpoint.
Meanwhile, a five kilogramme bomb was defused in the jurisdiction of Khwajawas police.
