Crackdown: Twelve members of banned outfits arrested

DPO Sohail Khalid said the operation was part of pre-election security measures.

Twelve members of banned militant outfits were arrested during an operation conducted within the respective jurisdictions of City police station, Saddar police station and Cantt police station.


Addressing a press conference at Police Lines on Monday, DPO Sohail Khalid said the operation was part of pre-election security measures, adding the raids were carried out after receiving intelligence reports.

Khalid said the accused have been shifted to Haripur prison, but did not reveal their names. “We have made arrangements for peaceful elections and will take immediate actions to avoid any security disruption during the election.”
