LAHORE:

Spokesperson for the former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said the news about the expenses on the security of Shahbaz Sharif are highly exaggerating and misleading as the actual expenditure is less than half of the amount being mentioned.

The spokesperson said Shahbaz worked with least protocol and security even when he was the chief minister and the expenses that occurred on his security have been much less than those of his counterparts in other provinces and the important personalities in the federal government.

He said the continuous demand from some circles for further reduction in the security of the Sharif brothers is creating doubts in the minds of the people.

The question is that who will be responsible in case of any untoward incident.

“Both the leaders are an asset for the nation and their security is responsibility of the state,” he said.
