KARACHI: The Pakistan Throwball Federation (PTF) will hold a three-match test series against Sri Lanka in June in Karachi.

According to the PTF secretary Maqbool Arain, the series was originally scheduled for March but was postponed due to the law and order situation in Karachi. The event will now be held after the elections that are due in May.

“Sri Lanka have confirmed their participation,” Arain told The Express Tribune. “The series will now take place in June after the elections. The law and order situation is volatile in Karachi, so we decided to postpone it for a while. Hopefully, conditions in the city will be stable by then.

“We aim to hold an event of international standard in order to promote the sport in Pakistan.”

The national men’s throwball team is ranked third in Asia and 14th in the world.

Meanwhile, the PTF will hold the men’s national championship in May. Selectors will monitor players during the event before finalising the squad to play against Sri Lanka.
