Setting Goals: Alavi asks NGOs’ help to eradicate polio

Parents need to be educated on the immunisation scheme so that under-age children can be vaccinated: Justice Alavi.

HYDERABAD: Sindh caretaker chief minister Justice (retd) Zahid Kurban Alavi has asked the health department and NGOs to collaborate with people from all walks of life to eradicate polio in the province. He was speaking as a chief guest at a dinner hosted by Hyderabad Rotary Club in Qasimabad on Friday. Justice Alavi stressed that parents need to be educated on the immunisation scheme so that under-age children could be vaccinated. He assured vaccination teams of full cooperation from the government and promised to provide them foolproof security in sensitive areas. On the law and order situation, the caretaker chief minister  said that an effective plan had been made to make the police socially and financially sound, which would enable them to perform their duties better.
