HAFIZABAD:

A fogging and spraying drive in the district will begin on April 15. District Coordination Officer Capt (retired) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal said that district government workers had been instructed to spray and fog each area carefully. In case of dengue mosquito traces in any area, he said, 200 houses around the breeding site will be fogged and sprayed again.

The DCO was presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements for the campaign.

Urging workers to be watchful for any breeding sites, Iqbal said they must consider the drive a service to fellow citizens. He said the government had come a long way in controlling the situation and hoped that the dengue mosquito would be eliminated soon. He informed the meeting that dengue counters and wards would also be set up at the THQ and the DHQ hospitals for diagnostic tests and treatment, respectively. He directed the officials to start the distribution of awareness literature a day before the beginning of the campaign.
