The Sukkur district and sessions court ordered the police on Thursday to register an FIR against 13 people, including former Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, his daughter former MNA Nafeesa Shah, and advocate Liaqat Shar, for allegedly beating a lawyer on the court’s premises.

Advocate Manzoor Ansari reportedly filed an application, complaining that on Wednesday, he appeared before the election tribunal at the Sukkur High Court to file objections against the former chief minister. His objections stated that Shah had concealed facts about his assets and close relatives in his nomination papers. “As soon as I came out after filing objections, a group of people, including advocate Liaqat Shar, attacked me.”

After hearing his application, the Sukkur district and sessions judge Saleem Jan Khan ordered the police to register an FIR against 13 people - including Qaim Ali Shah, his daughter and other advocates. Ansari said that he will register the FIR at the “A” section police station but was unable to until last reports.
