Sabotage: SSGC pipeline blown near Jaffarabad

A 16-inch diameter Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) gas pipeline was blown away

KARACHI: A 16-inch diameter Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) gas pipeline was blown away on April 10, 2013 between Tuesday and Wednesday night, in Jaffarabad District, Balochistan. The Indus Left Bank Pipeline (ILBP) was blown up by unknown miscreants. The pipeline was carrying gas for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines, a company press release on Wednesday said. SSGC’s system has not been affected due to this sabotage activity at all, it said. Following the incident, the utility company immediately isolated the affected section of the pipeline from its system. Company’s emergency response teams were ready to rush to the site from Shikarpur to inspect the situation. The company said that another team will also be mobilised from Karachi, carrying heavy repair equipments and necessary material.
