Warning signs needed

Letter April 11, 2013
Just before an underpass starts, there is a tiny wall before it.

LAHORE: Despite all efforts made by the last administration of Lahore to revamp the city’s roads, I have noticed a very dangerous loophole, which might be causing numerous accidents on a daily basis — the city’s numerous underpasses.

Just before an underpass starts, there is a tiny wall before it. Due to the zig-zag nature of the underpasses and the traffic factor, sometimes one misses the start of that wall and crashes into it head on. This is more applicable where intersections have been altered, like the Ferozepur Road underpass. I have already witnessed three accidents occur around that area.

My suggestion is to immediately have warning signs constructed just before the wall starts to minimise accidents.
