25 new SHOs appointed in Pindi division

Two posting apparently on hold as the incumbents are investigating high-profile murders.

As many as 25 new Station House Officers (SHOs) have been appointed by City Police Officer (CPO) Abdul Razzaq Cheema in the police stations of Rawalpindi division ahead of the general elections.


All the newly appointed SHOs have assumed their charges and started working to control crime and ensure free and fair elections, police spokesman Inspector Raja Fayyaz said on Wednesday.

CPO Abdul Razzaq Cheema stationed Inspector Raja Mussadiq Hussain as the new Waris Khan SHO, Inspector Aziz Aslam Niazi as the City SHO, Inspector Faryad Hussain as Cannt SHO, Inspector Tanveer Javed as Sadiqabad SHO, Inspector Sanaullah Khan as RA Bazaar SHO, Inspector Muhammad Nauman as Gunjmandi SHO, Inspector Muhammad Zariat as Ratta Amral SHO, and Inspector Tahir Abbas as Pirwadhai SHO, whole Inspector Aqeel Abbas takes over at Banni Police Station, Inspector Asif Nawaz at New Town, Inspector Kazim Ali Naqvi at Race Course, Inspector Zulfiqar Ahmed Zafar in Westridge, Inspector Akhtar Ali in Naseerabad, Inspector Arif Mehmood at Civil Lines, Inspector Chaudhry Asar Ali at Saddar Berooni Police Station, Inspector Imtiaz Ahmed at Rawat, Inspector Hafeezur Rehman at Chauntra, Inspector Muhammad Khan at Mandra, Inspector Allah Baksh at Jatli, Inspector Asif Abbas at Kallar Seydan, Inspector Muhammad Raffique at Kahuta, Inspector Zafar Shakeel in  Murree, Inspector Akbar Abbas in Kotli Sattian, Inspector Zaman Raza in Gujar Khan, Inspector Ilyas Ahmed in Taxila, Inspector Zulfiqar Bazaid in Wah Cannt and Inspector Mushtaq Ahmed is the new SHO for Wah Saddar.

However, sources said the SC has put the transfers of two SHOs on hold as they are probing two separate high-profile murder cases.

Morgah SHO Abdul Sattar Khan was still performing duty as he has been investigating the blind murder of SCP lawyer Chaudhry Muhammad Khan, while Airport SHO Malik Raffaqat has been probing the murder of Sabira Bibi.
