FAISALABAD: Mobile phone traders association staged a demonstration on Wednesday against the imposition of what they called ‘heavy sales tax’ on mobile phones. Some 200 traders and mobile phone sellers rallied from Katchery Bazaar, the biggest mobile phone market in Faisalabad, to the Clock Tower round-about, where they burnt tyres. They vowed to continue their protest until the withdrawal of the sales tax on mobile phones. They held banners and placards and shouted slogans against the imposition of the tax. They demanded that the government withdraw the tax immediately.  Khalid Jutt, the Mobile Phone Traders Association president, urged the government to reconsider its decision.
