All the king’s men: Wattoo slams security to Sharifs

Wattoo says that 761 security guards are deputed with the Sharif family, costing Rs20 million a month.

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo has said former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif and his family were continuing to get the security and protocol they had enjoyed when Sharif was the chief minister. He said 761 security guards were deputed with the Sharif family, costing Rs20 million a month. He said 317 men from the Elite Force, 302 from the Lahore Police’s Security Division, 108 from the Punjab Constabulary and 34 from the Lahore district police were on duty with the Sharifs. He said former prime ministers and chief ministers were entitled to 20 security men each. He said former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former chief minister Parvez Elahi had been provided security according to their status. He said he himself had been the chief minister for two terms but was not provided any security.
