Dengue awareness: Second PMA half- marathon held

Treatment methods against dengue virus highlighted.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Medical Association and Mortein jointly organised the second PMA Lahore Marathon to raise awareness against dengue here on Sunday.

Doctors, students, athletes and members of the civil society participated in the marathon. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf  leader and former PMA Pakistan president Yasmeen Rashid was the chief guest at a ceremony held to mark the marathon. Professor Muhammad Ashraf Nizami, Dr Inamul Haq, Dr Rizwan Naseer, Dr Muhammad Tanveer Anwer and Dr Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry also attended the ceremony.



Addressing the ceremony, speakers threw light on treatment methods and precautionary measures against the dengue virus. They suggested spraying houses and massaging bodies with anti-mosquito lotions. Rashid appreciated doctors for making profound efforts against dengue and said she was proud of her community. She appealed to people to follow the directions given by doctors against dengue. Prizes were distributed among the winners.
