An official of the political administration said the incident took place in Hurmaz village of the teshil when the improvised explosive device (IED) went off, killing two men and destroying their motorcycle.
The official said that the two were on their way to Mir Ali Bazaar from the village when they hit the IED. “As a result, both were killed on the spot,” he added. The deceased were identified as Abdul Samad and Noor Baqi Jan.
The locals rushed to the area after the incident and started rescue activities on their own.
Meanwhile, a curfew was imposed for an indefinite period in Mir Ali, Miramshah, Ramzak, Ghulam Khan Bazaar, the residential areas of Ghulam Khan, Khajori, Esha, Boya and all the security check post areas, a security official said. The official said he did not know when the curfew will be lifted.
On March 29, a temporary respite in the curfew gave the candidates contesting the upcoming elections the opportunity to visit political administration officials to submit their applications.
