Tough Scrutiny: Madhyanas’ nominations rejected

The nomination papers of Aslam Mudhyana and his nephew Nadeem Sarwar Mudhyana were rejected



SARGODHA: The nomination papers of Aslam Mudhyana and his nephew Nadeem Sarwar Mudhyana were rejected for PP-31 by Returning Officer Chaudhry Nazeer Ahmed on Saturday. Shahid Nazeer Khan, the lawyer for school teacher Nafees Khan who has alleged that he was tortured by Aslam Mudhyana, had raised objections and requested that the RO reject their nominations. Separately, the NA-66 returning officer allowed former state minister Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi to pay Rs4,000 owed to Islamabad Electric Supply Company to be eligible. Objections were raised on Saturday against former federal minister Ghias Ahmed Mela and Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha in NA-65. In NA-67, the nominations of Chaudhry Anwer Ali Cheema, Dr Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Shams Naveed Cheema, Tariq Gujjar and Mumtaz Akhtar Kahloon were found in order.
