KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed Sindh Rangers Director General to recover and produce a missing person who was allegedly picked up by the paramilitary troops during raids conducted in the city. Justice Maqbool Baqar, heading the division bench, has asked the home secretary, the provincial police chief, the Rangers DG and other police officials to file comments within two weeks. The petitioner, Khawaz Alam, alleged that rangers personnel had forcibly entered his house on February 11 and detained his son without due cause. They had then asked him to arrange Rs500,000 for the release of his son. He appealed to the court to direct respondents to produce the detainee in court.
