Approved: Former city nazim clears scrutiny

Returning officers also approved the nomination papers of independent candidate, Qari Sadaqat Ali for PS-103.

The scrutiny of nomination papers of election candidates continued on Saturday when the former Karachi nazim and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) candidate, Naimatullah Khan, was accepted for NA-250 by the returning officer.


Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) leader Kamran Tessori, Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Mehfooz Yar Khan and JI leaders, Merajul Huda and Abdul Aziz, have also been cleared for the same constituency.

Furthermore, the nomination papers of PML-F leader Shafi Awan, JI leader Ishfaq Baloch and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) (Shaheed Bhutto) leader Ghiwa Bhutto were approved for the NA-248 seat, while papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Kashif Ali were approved for NA-249.

Returning officers also approved the nomination papers of independent candidate, Qari Sadaqat Ali for PS-103 and PML-N leaders Farooq Awan, Sultan Bahadur, Owais Ghanchi, Naima Baji for the constituencies of PS-108, PS-108-09, PS-110 and PS-111, respectively.

The candidature of PPP leaders, Farooq Ghanchi and Mehmood Junejo, was also approved for PS-110 and PS108-10 respectively. AML leader, Humayun Usman’s candidature for PS-113 was also approved by the returning officer.
