KARACHI:

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Sindh successfully completed its Integrated Recovery Programme for assistance of flood-affected families in March.

The society’s Sindh chairperson, Farzhana Naek, addressed the closing ceremony of the three-day workshop, Lesson Learnt, to mark the occasion. She said that the 2010 floods affected one-fifth of Pakistan’s total land, leaving millions homeless.

In order to help the most vulnerable people bring normality back to their lives, the recovery programme was launched in Shikarpur and Kambar, Shahdadkot in April 2011 to conduct activities to provide shelters, latrines, livelihood and basic healthcare.
