Official negligence: Girl, 3, falls into open manhole, dies

FAISALABAD: A three-year-old died on Friday after falling into an open manhole in D-Type Colony. Police said Ayesha, a resident of Sohailabad Colony, was playing in the street when she fell into the manhole. A passers-by heard the girl’s screams and called other passers-by for help. The girl was pulled out and taken to a hospital, where she dies a few hours later. Doctors her said she had inhaled poisonous gases. The family and residents protested against the WASA.
