KARACHI:

A team of 1,000 Rangers personnel raided Korangi and arrested 14 suspects while trying to find the men responsible for the blast that occurred in Korangi on Wednesday. They also found 52 weapons in their possession.

Law enforcement agencies have yet to find out which faction of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is responsible for the incident, said a member of Crime Investigation Department on the condition of anonymity. “TTP has accepted responsibility for the incident but they haven’t revealed which group carried it out,” he said, adding that the terrorists had carried out the blast to retaliate against the operations being conducted by the Rangers all over Karachi.

The Ranger’s spokesperson told The Express Tribune that they have yet to determine whether the arrested men were involved in the blast in Korangi.

A team headed by SSP Khawaja Naveed is currently investigating the blast. The funeral prayers for the deceased were performed at the headquarters of Bhittai Rangers in Malir.

If this ttp menace is not extinguished in the next few weeks......Karachi will become a Syria. Why is Karachi being left to self destruction? Why is Karachi being neglected again? Thiis time, if the security establishments don't control this menace.......they will lose Karachi to ttp. Why are Rangers being sent in? Why not the country's special forces?
