LAHORE: Justice Kazim Raza Shamsi of the Lahore High Court on Thursday granted protective pre-arrest bail (till April 18) to former commerce secretary Salman Ghani in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) fraud case. Ghani’s counsel told the judge that he was not a party in the fraud case. He said the NICL case was being heard in Karachi and, he feared, that Ghani would be arrested by the police before being heard. He requested the judge to grant Ghani a pre-arrest bail so that he could appear before the court.
