LAHORE: Former director of National Industrial Credit Corporation Mehmood Khan was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab on Thursday for fraud charges, according to officials.

Khan was an absconder since 2001, said Deputy Director Awareness and Prevention NAB Punjab Zahid Iqbal.

Khan was arrested for pocketing Rs13 million from investments of the general public through the pretext of lucrative profit schemes, officials further stated.

In another case, NAB Punjab arrested Saleem Imran Qureshi alias Swati on Thursday from Lahore. The accused was allegedly involved in a bogus loan case of Rs15 million in the NBP Lytton Road Branch Lahore.

Both of the accused will be presented before an accountablility court on Friday for obtaining physical remand as well as for the recovery of Rs28 million, cumulated.
